Become a Member
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Health Officers Council of BC.
Members meet twice a year at our CME accredited hybrid conferences. The purpose of our gatherings is to discuss public health issues and policies relevant to British Columbia. There are no membership dues, however there are registration fees should you choose to attend a conference.
All individuals seeking membership must meet at least one of the eligibility criteria below for either regular or affiliate membership, as well as read and agree to the society’s constitution and bylaws in order to be considered.
Membership in Health Officers Council of BC is contingent upon review and approval by the directors.
- Physicians practicing or closely allied with the practice of public health and preventive medicine (PHPM) in BC; or
- PHPM trainee physicians enrolled in BC.
- PHPM physicians practicing in the Yukon; or
- Previous HOC members now practicing outside of BC; or
- Select leaders of public health or academic organizations in BC, based on referrals by current members.
